This bedroom concept board includes some essential elements to create a successful Scandinavian-style bedroom. The combination of neutrals, mustard yellow and light navy blue really makes for an interesting, eye-catching Scandinavian décor. A blend of items that produces a calm and soothing Scandinavian look. The products I have selected this solid beech and engineered wood bed frame from West Elm, which has a typical Scandinavian light wood tone to it. An assortment of black and white throw pillows with geometric patterns have been chosen to pair with this 2" pile height (extra comfort for your toes when getting in and out of bed!) ivory Turkish area rug from Rugs.ca. As usual, I like to pick an accent throw pillow or two for a little "pop" effect, hence the velvet solid blue pillows from West Elm and the two silk pillows in sunflower yellow, from Crate and Barrel. The accent chair, made with a rich birch wood frame and upholstered seating, brings warmth and coziness. When space allows, I always recommend having an accent chair in a bedroom. Another great way to add seating space to your bedroom is to place an ottoman or table at the end of the bed. In this case, I have selected a black coffee table from EQ3, which pairs with the stylish, black wall lights on each side of the bed. This 7 drawer dresser from Crate and Barrel has been selected for storage and style purposes. It compliments nicely with the overall Scandi vibe of the room. Lastly, the two black framed wall art pieces from Society6 accentuate the Scandinavian look and embellish beautifully this bedroom. Along with this indigo mountain landscape wall clock (also from Society 6), the art selection for this room makes for a very pleasing, lovely Scandinavian look. The items on this concept board were carefully selected to create a successful minimalist look. Neutrals and earthy tones occupy the totality of the colour scheme, which set the seal on the continuity and wholeness of the room. The end result makes for a very calming, soothing and relaxing living room. When working on developing a minimalist look, bear in mind that "less is more". Which doesn't mean this style is an easier or less exciting style to create. Far from that, in fact. Playing around with the bare necessary design elements without compromising the aesthetics of a space can be quite a thrilling task. The Products For this design concept board, I opted for a modern, structured yet inviting grey leather sofa from Crate and Barrel. To go along with this high-quality sofa, I picked some beautiful throw pillows in neutral tones. A pair of two solid white Alcott Hill pillows, made of 100% cotton linen for extra comfort, combined with a grey reversible throw Heathered wool pillow, and a cream, feather-fringed pillow, both from Crate and Barrel. For the middle cushion, I opted for a fun rectangular patterned pillow from EQ3. I wanted to add natural warmth and texture to the space, and the slabs of weathered mango wood from this gorgeous coffee table from Crate and Barrel accomplish just that. For even more warmth and texture, an oatmeal off-white tufted lounge chair from Wayfair was selected for this concept board. The white round side tables from Pottery Barn are made of durable concrete. Their simple drummed shape is the perfect fit for this minimalist space. I chose two poufs for this living room, as they both provide a double purpose (seats and footrests). Multi-functionality is key when it comes to curating a minimalist look. As per the lighting, this elegant grey Terrazzo table lamp from Crate and Barrel fits marvelously in this décor. For the area rug, I wanted something simple yet comfortable and beautiful. This Turkish, 1" pile height in the colour linen from Rugs.ca ticked all the boxes. Last but not least, the very fun and delightful wall art with the cowboy hats comes from Society6. I opted for a simple and minimal frame for it, to bring the focus on the piece of art itself. Voila! You now have yourself a lovely minimalist look for your living room, with a free shoppable list to go with it.
